“There's a time for asking nicely
Arguing politely
And a time for breaking down the door...."

Didi Stewart

from Cocktails with Fascists

Blend together a spoonful of stinging satire, a dollop of heartfelt balladry, a pinch of old-fashioned Broadway razzmatazz, and you've got...

                                         COCKTAILS WITH FASCISTS

An original musical revue for our strange American times, Cocktails With Fascists pokes serious fun at reanimated dictators, the filthy ultra-rich, and a polarized nation teetering on the brink. Catchy tunes meet sharply pointed lyrics in an evening of melody-driven mayhem guaranteed to bring audiences to their feet.

What happens when late-stage capitalism invades the body politic? Which departing Senate Republican harbors a fondness for Gilbert and Sullivan? And why in hell is the Devil seeing a therapist? Cocktails With Fascists has the answers!

Meet The Cast

Will Mcmillan

A singer, songwriter, and founding member of BACA (Boston Association of Cabaret Artists), Will McMillan has soloed with pops orchestras, rock bands, jazz combos, and a cappella groups. For many years he hosted Will & Company — a series highlighting local singers and songwriters — at the Cambridge Center For Adult Education and earned a 2002 IRNE award from the Independent Reviewers of New England for Best Cabaret Show in a small venue.

A member of SAG, AFTRA and Equity, Will has performed as a featured vocalist at venues from Somerville to Shanghai — including Scullers Jazz Club, Sanders Theatre, Johnny D's, Jacques, John F. Kennedy Library, Middleast Cafe, TT the Bear's, Arlington Street Church, Diamond Jim's, the Ocean's Inn (Provincetown, MA), Hi-Hat Club (RI), Inn on Newfound Lake (NH), Spring Island (SC), Westbeth Performance Center (NYC), Hotchkiss School (CT), Star Island (NH) and Yin Par Le Garcon Chinois (Shanghai).

After taking a class called "Ukulele for the Almost Musical," Will began writing songs using Apple's GarageBand software and his trusty laptop. You are welcome to hear lots of music at his blog: AMusicaLifeOnPlanetEarth.wordpress.com, visit his web site: willsings.com, and find him performing on YouTube.

Will McMillan — Performer, Songwriter & Teacher

“Few singers captivate an audience as quickly and convincingly as McMillan can. He presents his repertoire with a beguilingly intimate approach all his own.” — New England Entertainment Digest

Leslie K. Sterling AKA "AmmaLeslie"

Leslie Sterling previously appeared with Didi in the Bacharach Show, the Laura Nyro Show, the Randy Newman Show, the Carole King Show, and very briefly with Didi Stewart and the Amplifiers. Leslie has also worked with many other Boston-area bands and songwriters; and has done countless recording sessions as a lead vocalist, background singer and spoken word artist.

She was born in Washington, D.C. and started following politics closely in elementary school. Boston has been her home since the 1970s. For 15 years she has blogged at Daily Kos under the pen name TrueBlueMajority, and posted a commentary every day for each of the first 100 days of the DJT administration.

Also known as "AmmaLeslie", she earned an M.Div. in Biblical Studies and is ordained in the Episcopal Church. She is an activist priest and voice of the Christian Left, whose ministry is firmly anchored at the intersection of progressive Christianity and inclusive justice. In 2016 she and 500 other clergy protested at Standing Rock alongside Native American "Water Protectors"; and in 2018 she was arrested for civil disobedience at the Massachusetts State House as part of the New Poor People's Campaign.

Music, laughter, and personal resilience are the most powerful weapons of the Resistance. Leslie is very excited to be part of a show that celebrates all three.
